Simulating a NIC Resolution

You can simulate a resolution to test your configuration and data to ensure that the expected type of value is returned. Before you simulate a resolution, you must know the exact name of the resolver, the data key that the resolver takes, the data value that the resolver returns, and a specific value and format for a data key.

To simulate a NIC resolution:

  1. Click Simulate Resolution.

The Simulate Resolution page appears.

  1. Enter the following information:

See SDX Network Guide: SAE, Juniper Networks Routers, and NIC, Chapter 10, NIC Resolution Process.

See SDX Network Guide: SAE, Juniper Networks Routers, and NIC, Chapter 10, NIC Resolution Process.

  1. Click OK.

NIC Web Admin returns one or more corresponding data values in the Simulate Resolution page for the data key or displays an error message if the data entered is incorrect.

To obtain this information by viewing available resolvers and their data mappings, see Viewing and Managing Resolvers with NIC Web Admin.
