Installing the VTA and Running the VTA Configuration Script

For information about the location of VTA software on the application library CD, see Chapter 1, Installing the SDX Applications.

To install each VTA:

1. Install the Solaris packages for the VTA (see Chapter 1, Installing the SDX Applications) on the hosts that support the following components:

• SAEs
• Directory
• JBoss

2. Run the VTA configuration script on each VTA host. The script configures JBoss for the VTA, installs JBoss client libraries, and loads sample data. To invoke the script, access the folder /opt/UMC/conf/vta, and run the load command.

cd /opt/UMC/conf/vta

./load

3. On each host, restart JBoss and the SAE.
4. Configure the VTA and associated components (see Related Configuration Tasks and Chapter 18, Configuring the VTA with VTA Configuration Manager).
