SRC Modules and C-series Controller

This advanced hardware and sophisticated software bundle extend Juniper's experience in providing highly intelligent reliable and scalable IP network layer solutions to the policy and control layer.


 

Overview

The SRC family consists of advanced task focused software modules that build on the SDX-300 Service Delivery System, and consists of the SRC Policy Engine, the SRC Diameter Gateway, the SRC-SOAP Gateway, the SRC-Volume Tracking Application and the SRC-Threat Mitigation Portal.

The SRC modules utilize widely adopted standards-based open interfaces and protocols, such as the Common Open Policy Service protocol for support of policy provisioning (COPS-PR), eXtensive Markup Language (XML), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), and Diameter to maximize interoperability with the broadest range of network elements, applications, and OSS/BSS platforms. At the network layer, the SRC modules are fully integrated with Juniper Networks routing platforms and security solutions, and extend support to third party devices via a simple scripting service. Support is also extended to PCMM-compliant cable modem termination system (CMTS) devices used in cable networks, and has a powerful Meta-Directory capability for rapid integration with external repositories and related systems that support billing, customer care, order entry, provisioning, billing and security.

C-series Controllers are rack mountable appliances that host designated SRC Modules and provide the high-performance, reliability and scalability needed for carrier grade service delivery and next Generation Network Architectures.

As key components of the Session and Resource Control Portfolio, the SRC modules and C-series Controllers offer a carrier grade policy and control solution that, together with integrated third party platforms and applications, support the delivery of high value differentiated services across multi-vendor network infrastructures and enable the smooth migration to next generation Cable, 3GPP IMS and ETSI TISPAN network architectures. Independently of or in combination with the other products and solutions of the Session and Resource Control portfolio, the SRC modules and C-series Controllers provide Juniper customers with a broad set of open, agile and customizable policy and control options to address their diverse, and unique, business and technical requirements.
